Kate from Concern has been in touch again and I can now reveal the project that your donations will be helping with. The credit & savings programme in Cambodia aims to help people affected by landmines, to regain their confidence and to become, once again, self sufficient. The below are a couple of examples of how donations to this project may be spent.

  • £12 can provide a weaving group with enough bamboo to make seventy five baskets which can then be sold for a total of £48 at the local market
  • £63 and a pig farmer can buy 7 piglets. In one year's time when they are fully grown he can sell them for £36 each (total income to the farmer of £189)
  • With £9000 Concern will establish one more village bank in rural Cambodia to give the opportunity to many more to enjoy the benefits of the Credit & Savings Scheme.
