The Swedes have been playing with my mind again. Why I don’t know but they have been fiddling with the international standards on food colours. Now the crisp packets I can cope with. It doesn’t matter that they use didn’t colour packets to walkers crisps as after all you don’t eat the packet do you? Well maybe one or two of you do but believe me you are not meant to. But this ice cream it’s just not right. What did you guess, strawberry, maybe raspberry something that was at least red or pink I would expect. It would make sense wouldn’t it? After all we consume a food product with our eyes before it gets anywhere near our mouth.

But no, they have to play with our minds. This is a mint ice cream. I know I hear your protests, I know it should be a green. I don’t care even if it is a vivid toxic green at least my brain would know what was going on. At the moment my eyes are sending a telegram screaming “Mmmmmm get ready here comes a fresh strawberry creamy taste” but my taste buds are filing a report of mint. Maria thinks its all perfectly normal and cant understand my request for the lights to be turn off or a blindfold. Maybe it is just me but it taste weird if I can see it first.

Ohh and while I am waffling about food (you can make your own minds up on whether I intended that as a terrible pun or not) does anyone know what kind of vegetable a rutabaga is?
